Just to let you know a red boat with a Trim in it won this highly competitive event.
The sailing was set on a short trapezoid cause which for a simple Cherub sailor was dizzying and no less complicated when they started moving marks during the racing on the Saturday.
The racing was close with lead changes a plenty. Unfortunately on short legs it was hard to find the full pace needed as most of the time was spent threading in and out of other boats.
To be honest for the little chilly team it was the best event we could of had, lots of manoeuvres lumpy washing machine water and variable winds across 2 days.
The other sailors in the event were friendly and made it a fun event. I think neither of the cherubs regretted a good weekends sail.
The more astute of you will sense a but coming.
But Sailfest has now made it to the top of the leader board for worst run events. This is a tight run thing as other events I have been to include one in which I capsized on a start line so short nobody could start and another where they had a reach with a sandbank only locals new about in the middle of a reach. Sailfest wins because the others were armature clubs trying their best.
In conclusion it was a great weekend with some good racing and good company and funny organisation, I loved it but I don't think I will try again next year.
I will let the current leader of the travellers series bore you with results.
