Now then now then, ey up folk, hows it goin?
I've moved to Leeds and have manage to get myself saiing at Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club in a RS400 (...). YDSC is a brilliant club. It's got a top notch new clubhouse over looking the water and the rolling Yorkshire hills, with it's little walls and roads weaving and winding for miles around. It's a very pretty vista in a very exposed place at a modorate altitude which means it's bloody windy! Love it.
The guy I'm sailing with (John) has offered me his double garage in the North of Leeds in which I'll be piecing Fuzzy back together in. There's not a lot involved in order to get Fuzzy back on the water but I lack most sticky stuff and general cherub essntials as I havn't done much in the way of boat building for a while.
If anyone feels that they can donate anything to my cause, wether it's scraps of carbon, off cuts of glass or foam, filler or micro balloons, consumables....anything that could be useful the give me a shout!
I quite litterally have a £20 note and the change in my wallet and my 'FEED ME' money dinosor. I've got some work over the coming week but after that I have nothing coming in until mid January. Take pitty upon this groveling student.
Cheers peeps
Ross

I'm sorry Ross, I need everything I have going spare to help enlarge the size of my balls.

There are some bits we would be happy to donate:
- A sample of carbon bi-ax.
- Some 5400 resin and hardener that is pushing date (a jam jar full left).
- Some bubbles.
Some of this has been donated to us/the class by Wiz (although they never ask for a plug Wiz - works for Matrix who most of us at some point have/will buy resin/carbon from - 0800 0744 788).
I'm guessing you are playing with your backside? If you are after a flappy panel and mounts then the other option is that we make one here on the mold (with vac pump) at the sticky weekend and then post it it.
There is a strong chance that the lovely folk on this forum can also suggest a few ways to make the £'s you do have to spend go a long way.
Can you post in this thread:
- some pictures of where you are up to.
- a description of what you are trying to do.
- a postal address.
-
Roland, I will take that off your hands! I'll PM you my address, I'd rather not put my address on the forum.
I'm in London at the moment doing a couple of days work over reading week. Money from this will be put into getting Fuzzy sailing, getting tools and materials for my course, and maybe some beer and food as well.
I have a back up back side waiting to be bonded on. It's Daemon-esq which is not ideal but it's a quick, easy and cheap solution.
I'll put some pictures up when Fuzzys in the garage. I'll get a list together of what needs to be done but off the top of my head the main things are:
Gantry,
reinforce board case at deck level,
Control systems,
put rig together.
There's nothing intrusive or too complicated, just a fair amount of faff.

What size does the gantry need to be?
I was considering putting a simple mould together for a gantry for John's E5.
I'm talking about buts of ply, 2*2 and car body filler that all exist somewhere in my garage. It will need covering with parcel tape and release wax for each use.
If you can use a gantry of the same size then it wouldn't be too hard to make a second.
Let me know what dimensions you need it to be and I'll let you know if they are the same.
