Title: Off up North
Post by: ross_burkin on May 07, 2010, 03:01:13 PM
As of September I'll be at university in Leeds. I'm hoping to take Fuzzy with me and join Yourkshire Dales SC. Are there any Cherubists near by? Has anyone sailed a YDSC?

Good work Ross. What will you be studying? Alex was at uni in Leeds for a year but not sure if he got round to doing any sailing.

Mike Chalmers and Matt Stobbart sailed Norwegian Blue at Ripon SC for a few years a while back, but Mike's in Florida now and the last time I heard from Matt he was heading for NZ. There used to be a Cherub Open at Filey, which was always truly epic both on and off the water, but there weren't any Cherub sailing members actually at the club. Where is Yorkshire Dales SC?

My old boat, 2303, had a Ripon SC sticker on the back of it when I collected it too.

I think I have been to YDSC before, when it was named Grimworth....  :-\

I remember it being a decent size bit of water, although I was sailing a 200, surrounded by large hills making for some exciting wind patterns.
