Hi Ben,
Glad of your interest. Have you seen the second hand boat list at http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/test/doku.php/secondhand (http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/test/doku.php/secondhand) and the boat buyers guide at http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/test/doku.php/which_boat_should_i_buy (http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/test/doku.php/which_boat_should_i_buy) too?
The best boat depends on your budget and your aims. Any asymmetric Cherub will give you that Cherub grin, and top speed does not really depend on sail area.
Your cheapest option is to crew for people - I did it for years before getting my first Cherub.
Where are you based?
Best,
Will

Suicide Blonde is an excellent boat.
Good shape: Italian Bistro
Good upgrade: Iain Christie and Simon Roberts.
(most importantly) Good track record: Gone well in several nationals.

Depending where exactly you're based in Suffolk, there looks to be a little group of cherubs forming at Grafham this year - home club for Taking Liberties, Fuzzy Logic, and one of the guys at the sailing school has an old woody which comes out sometimes.

I need to think what is going to be the best boat for me.
I live about 1 hour from grafham so it is a possibility.
is there any one that needs a crew?
Thanks Ben

Taking Liberties has a full compliment of crew i'm afraid, but I don't know who Ross is planning on sailing with in Fuzzy.
Ross?

but ben when the weathers looking good we'll get a blast in the blonde sorted for you.

Î have a crew but with exams and exam related things coming up he is likley to be unavavailble for a while. Fuzzy will be up and reguarly saling at Grafham by mid March.
