current plans mean we'll be there...
-
as long as I don't go near any ladders between now and then we should be there too.
-
Planning on being there.
Will the camping option be available?
-
Pretty sure that camping at Weston is a given. They always open the field for parking at open meetings so will be fine.
-
i believe the blonde will be slagging it at weston again this year

Does anyone be in need of a crew??? I would come as one:)
-
I'll definitely be at Weston but won't be sailing Fuzzy. Anyone need a crew?
-
Ross, as far as I am concerned you are welcome to Stanley as long as you look after him - but I know you will! Just a matter of getting my crews consent and insuring it propperly (third party atm). ;D If you send me a text at a reasonable hour we may be able to sort something out. Unfortunately I am no longer able to attend due to exams being far too close for comfort so you will need your own crew. It would be good to hear some thoughts from you re: the new main. Let me know.
-
We plan to be there!
-
Me and Mrs Blonde plan to attend on friday night so will be pitching tent for all others who are thinking about staying friday and saturday we'll be about.
its looking like good for breeze on the long range forecast, 8-14 on sat and 18-20 on sunday
-
18-20 on sunday..... I really wish I'd sailed since the nationals! I did go Kayaking the other weekend so I am hoping that is enough 'on the water' experience to see me through!!
-
Stanley ;D
I NEED A CREW! Or does anyone need a crew? If it's breeze on then my nearly 12 stone will useful to someone?
I can't do Saturday. I have work and I need the cash!
-
We will be there with Shiny!
Usual accomidation available if the weather is as bad as it could be.
Price of admition has increased to a sheet of 800 or finer wet and dry and some elbow greece.
The t foil is progressing but someone invented the pub which is a develish trap to behold.
-
800 grit? I may have something of use, I will have a look tonight.
I spent 2 hours sanding my board last night in an effort to get it to fit the boat, but i was using 80 grit rather than 800! Maybe another few hours tonight and we will be getting somewhere!
-
the orbital sander be your friend mr noyce failing that belt sand to oblivion
are you arriving friday night or saturday morning??
-
Early Saturday morning I believe. Might be there friday night to drop the boat off but it depends on timings.
I've been using the orbital sheet sander with 80grit as I don't have the belt sander to hand! If needs be I will just have to trim the trailing edge slightly to enable the board to sit further aft in the case which should make it fit better. I have so far got the board half way in with some wiggling so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (or should it be other side of the daggerboard case!)
-
good effort mr noyce progess is always slow i am tempted to remove some excess paint from the blondes bottom before the weekend
-
2 nights of sanding now done, and it still doesn't fit. I am thinking about towing it down behind the car to weston. 200 miles down the road should have worn off enough of it to get it in the hole!
-
You could use a big hammer and turn it into a keel boat.
our wet n dry is for a mould not an actual board.
As for practice We have had a comprehensive training regime since the nationals.
We did an exhaustive course in cross channel towing (no sailing).
I gained a much coverted spot at the sharp end of a GP 14 for three races.
We had 2 sails in our Olympic class boat (an old laser).
We have however let ourselves down with at least 4 sails in Shiny (far to much comitment to be seemly)
My proudest achievement is waking up early every morning and avoiding any contact what so ever with a Gym.
-
Me and Sarah will be around over the weekend, and if the weather is 100% perfect
I may be able to convince her to have a go at sailing! hmmm....
Are any of the new boats going? I will have my measuring tapes in the car
but need advanced warning to bring the sticks too.
-
No, we are yacht sailing this weekend and the following week in Brittany. Plan to be at Weymouth
-
Tom,
We'll be there with the new boat, which needs measuring, could do it here or cold do it at weymouth or the nationals, up to you !
Graham
-
STICKS - Please bring them as I am desperate to cut the transom :o 8) ??? ::) :P
-
Tom we will be bringing new sails for Loco, if measuring is going on that would be great.
-
So how did Weston go? I'm guessing a write up is coming i'm just impatient.
-
A weekend of close cherub racing, upto 7 boats hitting the first mark all in touching distance. Yes at times there really was very little wind, but some very fun racing. However, the magic of Weston was there and all crews were also rewarded with twinnability and a some good downhill rides as the wind arrived.
Riot van showed that the banshee has some serious speed and picked up the event win. Antidote failed to recover form lack of sleep on day 1 finishing overall in second by cleaning up on Sunday. Shiny was just rapid, it was great to see her back looking in fantastic shape.
Loco, born slippy, suicide, and dangerous beans all joined in the fun.
Race by race comming from another I'm sure.
-
Shame we couldn't make it.
I completed the yacht race to Eddystone Light house and back . We had light winds on Saturday, very light winds on sunday and a nice 10-18 knots on Monday. Finished late Monday afternoon.
Highlights: getting the tactics right around start point, and approaching the finish
geting favourable tide back past Portland Bill.
actually going faster than other boats when we took the sails down in the no wind bit.
everyone survived my cooking
Low points:
watching 5 boats romp past at 5 knots, some 800 yards further offshore of us as we drifted in no wind
having to anchor 50 yards of the eddystone when the wind died and we nearly drifted on to it.
several successive headsail changes on Monday as the wind built.

I will have the report uploaded today. Sorry about the delay, been busy at work this week!
