Title: Roz rows a marathon
Post by: Roza on October 21, 2008, 12:56:04 PM
After a couple of cheeky vodkas I seem to have agreed to row a marathon for children in need. I shall be doing this alongside my slightly mad friend Bex Marriott who came up with the idea, still not sure why I thought it could be fun too. This challenge consists of sitting on a rowing machine for around 4 hrs (hopefully) to complete 42,195 meters. As you can see this is a massive challenge to anyone and obviously a particularly large challenge for me whilst still repairing from the accident. The following link will take you thru to our sponsorship page and any donation would be greatly appreciated.

I think your arms are going to be in need after that one!

Count us in for such a ridiculous idea to support such a good cause.

In my previous life as a 1st VIII cox all I can say is

"ignore the arms, drive from the legs"

I still feels sorry for the 8 ladies who used to drag me up and down the river (although I was sub 10 stone at 21).

training so far has gone really well (apart from one blister) and target times are looking good although who knows what the body will decide on the day.
