Isn't there one of these machines in America and it's been running for 5/6 years already? Apparently theirs is more likely to produce a black hole.
Steven Hawkins has a $50 bet that what they find is going to be completely useless, if it works.
The thing I'm worried about is scientist say that it will only destroy a couple of particles. Particles are never lost or gained and destroying a couple is just not...good.

Particles are destroyed (and created) all the time.
You remind me of the people who said pain is natural so pain relieving drugs are just not.....good.
(Incidentally the issue of pain relief, specifically for the pain of child birth, sparked a huge international theological debate (because pain in childbirth was Eve's punishment for bringing about the fall of man, you see!). It raged on for a few year sand then one day died out completely by the absolutely infallible argument of ......... Queen Victoria having some!)

The thing that has me worried is the name!
They are smashing together a bunch of sub atomic particles to find out what they are made of. If a Large Hadron is a sub sub atomic particle, just how small would a Small hadron be? :-\
