Title: Born Slippy
Post by: roland_trim on March 14, 2016, 10:10:09 AM
Starting the planning now. After more people have sailed the boat than I care to remember, the to-do list for the refurb appears to be:
- Fix deck delamination (cut bits out and re-laminate where crews feet land during tacks)
- Find/Fix leak in deck/floor joint towards rear
- Make Gunwale not splinter city and solid
- Work out if mast if fubared
(rig of YW dayboat boat fell over in recent storm - BS mast in towing position! This is being handled by our friends at Noble, so will end happily)
- Rework rig controls - kicker and cunno heading to flip flops - probably on mast, comments welcome.

Questions remaining:
- Choose a colour
- Relaunch Date

Is yellow the only colour you can see?

To be honest I never really liked the white paint job we had on it originally. Robin Russell rang me from the chandlers to say they only had white, green or yellow in stock. And there's no way it was going to be yellow......   ;)

Back on the water. Video  of all the works to follow when I have some sending footage to splice into it.

Notes:
- Found a new crack when put full rig tension on.
- Still some strange feeling underfoot in starboard foot area
- Boat was airtight and dry after a good number of swims
- SAILING BS IS EPIC

Only photo form the day kindly comes from the Chew Commadore. He was parked at the windward mar (hidden in a shifty bit of lake), so by the time we were 3 sail twin wiring - we were a spec on his iphone.

Well done Roland, I absolutely love the paint job. Looks very cool with that 05 rig in the top photos. She's been crying out for a big rig for years. Send her!

Even with the smaller musto main on her she released and skippped both up and downwind.

There were a few choice teabags and the classic;
"probably an idea if you walk back to me"
This had the typical reply of "huh" ... "woooo" as the crew landed in the jib.

So its Tuesday and I'm still smiling form a sail on Sunday. Tomorrow if there is wind I have a hot shot laser sailer on board and then I hope to pack her up and take her to Monaco for a couple of weeks.
