Good man Jamie!
This gives me a target date to get Loco back on the water...
-
Ahh good, we now have a purpose.
Hopefully this year will be as good as last year wind wise and attendance wise. For this who donly know Stephan and robin attended last year and soon after bought a cherub (banshee ambulance)
Max also attended and is the new owner of sgt. Murphy.
Hopefully we can enlighten more people this/next year!
-
I'll gladly bring Eleanor along, work permitting.
-
Poppy and Born Slippy should both be on the shore and happy to take guests
-
current attendies are:
Born Slippy
poppy
Fuzzy Logic
Cheese
Shiny Beast
possibly Loco Pero, Banshee Ambulance, Elenor.
Roumers are slippery is nearby, will get on to that soon
Come on Ronin, you know you want to!
-
Ronin will try it's best to make it.. If not ill work on alex for the Sunday as he will not be working then.. I'll work on my boss and see what I can persuade. But sounds like a possibility :)
-
What are peoples thoughts on staing for sunday?
i think our best bet is camping at the green man (£12 a night in long itchington, about 15 minuet drive from draycote. the village has 6 pubs to choose from, all are reported to be very nice and all within stumbling distance (even crawling distance)
yes im awere it will be march, what are peoples thoughts.
-
There is also a premier inn a short distance away, if I can make it there is no way I'm camping
-
You may have an FX to play with for a little while...
-
and some beans, old bean
-
Yay, racing a barge. Just mind the wake of the back!
So Liza is bringing old fart along?
-
Providing I can find a helm... If not, I'm fully available to be a temp for crewless boats.
-
Looks like I'm going to miss this one as I've got to work😢
-
I have a spare gopro for anyone to borrow for some extra footage.
-
looks like ill be coming. hopefully with 2 muggles (non cherubers) in tow :) look forward to seeing you all again after a long winter :)
-
I'd like to come along !
-
What time are people planning to get there.
See you there with sailing kit, Al
-
Planning to be there from 10am onwards.
If you are thinking of coming it helps if you say hello here so we can gauge numbers :-)
-
Thanks Dave, Yep Roland count me in.
-
Hi all,
Following the DS, count myself, Dave (85Kg helm) and Kate (60kG crew) in for the Blast.
Lots of previous in Vago and 29er (club/open level) plus a bit on 49ers too :)
-
I'm planning to be there on Sunday so if anyone needs a crew, let me know, otherwise I'm bringing in backup...
-
Am expecting 10 boats for the saturday.
Long range forecast is looking 7-12 knots, a welcome relief from the usual 25+ stuff
I will try to book a table for 10 people at 17:30 at the local curry house. Visitors you are welcome to come to this too.
Accommodation. You have the option of a travel lodge or Pearaon HQ (sleeping bags and roll mats will be needed.)
If you want to drop your boat at Draycote on Friday night, pm/text/Facebook/call, anything but write a letter to me as I can give you a code for the gate.
Same goes for if you want my address for Friday/Saturday night?
-
Important:
Lunch will be needed for those that need it.
Tea and coffee facilities are available with an honesty box.
The canteen closes over the time we are on gmt.
-
Thanks Jamie - really looking forward to this one :-)
-
We will be missing this one too - a poorly timed family occasion. Looks like perfect wind if a little chilly. Enjoy and hopefully convert a few new Cherubers
-
Bringing another bod with me ( convincing him to go cherub rather than 18' skiff ) Saturday.
See ya's soon.
-
Hi guys, I'll be there Saturday but Loco is still snuggled up in her kennel.
Will bring gear if only to take weight off other helms...I'm on call, so someone would have to hold the mobile - no sweat, honest.
Hopefully Loco's mast is coming up with Mr Trim
-
Absolutely gutted I can't make it this weekend, but I'm sailing in the big lash at Liverpool. Hopefully I'll get to an event soon. Even ifit's Just to see the boats again!!!
-
Result of the week, just had a phone call saying I'm not needed at work tomorrow. Draycote here we come:-)
Do we need more boats if so I could bring Eleanor.
-
My figures show 10 boats tomorrow!
Eleanor would be 11!!
Happy for you two to stay at mine if needed.
I'd quite like an e6 to be there so we can say 'too challenging for Olympians, but you can do it!'
-
I'll be the judge of that - give me 5 years...
-
Will only be able to make Saturday as plans for Sunday but thanks for the offer. Will bring Eleanor along, if people want to take her out they can.
-
Simon, what time you leaving ?
-
Aiming to leave at 6.00 ish
-
Eleanor would be 11!!
Make that 12...! 8)
Can't do Sunday (in part due to a chemistry exam on the Monday) but in a (rush)/quick time to get ready (in fact a record time for us), I should be there with Sgt Murphey, soon after 10:00!
-
Great time today, thanks to Jamie for organising, good to see 12 boats out so early in the season. Special thanks to Rosie for putting up with my rustiness and having a swim or two with me. Say hello to Sophie for me.
-
Thanks for today guys, looking forward to seeing you again.
-
What a weekend!
Saturday we had 12 boats lined up in the shore.
Dave and Hayley were burning it up!
Robin unveiled the new look for the banshee ambulance.
Born slippy was to be seen with numerouse people being introduced to the class.
Wind was on and cold! The water want much warmer.
Sunday saw poppy, Ronin and shiny venture out with vetting degrees of success. Shiny's fun came to a prentice end when her ear fell off.
Poppy had some 1st gear issues but 2nd to 5th they were off.
Robin again had some 1st gear troubles but showed the 29ers how downwind pace is searved up.
A big thank you to Draycote for hosting the event.
An even bigger thank you has to be given to joe Thomas for sitting in an rib and freezing he metaphorical balls off all in the aid of taking pictures (to follow with the main page wrote up.)
Roll on this years events.
-
Sound like an awesome event shame I could come along to see if I could get a spin in Fuzzy. Props to all those who made it happen :)
