Title: Moving upwards

I'm looking at hopefully moving out of Spanish in the near future into an 05 boat what would be the best design to go for if I were to do a new build.

We can do you a kit for one like AE have a go at Weston. Slightly easier to sail than the racked boats and just as fast.

Suggest you use the nationals as a sounding board and then follow your heart :-)

The E6, E7 and E5 are all about the same overall performance when set up properly however the E6 and E7 accelerate on to the plane more smoothly.

Including A&E all 4 designs have potential so I think it comes down to how you want to build it and who owns the moulds/ rights to the design.

Unless you are really keen to build your own, I would give a lot of thought to Cool Beans.
You would get a new boat with all the niggles worked out, for about two thirds of the cost of a new build.
You would also benefit from being able to sail it straight away, getting you up to speed sooner.
