Where is the best place to get unidirectional carbon cloth?

For making a spinnaker pole. On the Cherub website it says use:

1 x 200g plain (or biaxial) carbon
4 x 300g unidirectional
1 x 200g plain (or biaxial) carbon

That list works very well for a Cherub on the mandrel the class loans (Paul Croote's creation). Saying that I think that mandrel is currently down your way with Andy (you'll know if you've met him, he is minus one digit). You can also swap the uni for more layers of 200g and the inner and outer layer can be lighter if you can find it (200g is the standard cheap, but my last pole used 100g biax that I picked up on a cheap deal).

If there are other things we can help with please keep this thread rolling :-) Happy to teach suck eggs or swap ideas.

We have the class mandrel in Southampton.
The bowsprit on A+E was similar layup to above but we used M46J high modulus Uni from Matrix and 300g braided sock in and out..
Let us know if you need the mandrel.

Thanks for the advice and offers. Alas not a Cherub in Torbay. I just use your site for build info (if I may). I'm putting an asymmetric on something else and it's actually the pole tube I have to make. The pole I will use is the top section of an RS600 mast and the kite will be 8 or 10 sq m., so not massive like the Cherubs' so I hope it will hold.
 The only Cherub I have ever heard about in Torbay was an Ellway1 years ago sailing from Torquay, long before I lived here. I did have a look at your boats last year in Babbacombe though, very impressive!

So if I am lamminating a boom can I use 200g weave layed at different angles instead of uni as I have loads of weave but no uni.

Our boom is 100% woven. 7 layers of 200g all at 0 - 90.
People underestimate the need to maintain hoop strength and stiffness in a boom.
They put in a high percentage of UD and the boom fails because the section is not stable.
We do not pt any torsion loads on our boom. All fittings are free to rotate so 0 - 90 layup is fine.
