Does anybody know where you can get of nylon or teflon rod that can be machined to form a mast heel.Also whats the cheap version of progrip called where do you get hold of it.

EBay for delrin. Don't use Teflon it is too soft.
Look at printing it in nylon from 3d print.co.UK
If you buy pro grip from p.b you get twice as much for the same price as other chandlers.
