Hi guys,
I need some advice as to what rope to use on my boat for a main/jib sheet and spinnaker sheets. I have been speaking to Roland an he said to put it on here. If you could tel me what to use and where to find it that would be most appreciated.
Many Thanks
Alex

Welcome to the class!
Lots of people use lots of different types of rope. I normally get what is easily available at the time i need it.

is what i got last time, not the most high tech but it was pretty cheap and does the job well.

Thanks,
ok i will look into and am trying to get the boat back on the water soon

6mm is fine for kite sheets, maybe 8 for main sheet. If you have a self tacker then get an 8mm with a dyneema core and you can easily taper it to use the tail of the mainsheet to be the jib sheet. I think I am using Marlow Excel Fusion but it is reassuringly expensive!

Welcome to the class Mr Torquada...I promise I will be good and adhere strictly to the Doctrine

Hi, welcome to the class. We use excel fusion and tapper it down for the jib, although not the cheapest it has been on the boat almost 3years now and is still fine.
