Title: Evil Plan "Z"
Post by: Neil C. on February 12, 2013, 07:49:29 PM
With a flurry of new, high quality Cherub designs hitting the water this year, I'm going to have to do something radical if I want to win the Nationals. I've got no idea what this thing is, but I'm sure it'll measure as a Cherub. The hull looks less than 12 feet long, it's definitely less than 6 feet wide. OK so it's got a massively long boom with a sail mounted on the end, but there is no restriction on boom length in the Cherub rules. The rig height should scrape in under the 7.1m limit. A couple of trapezes and it ought to go faster still. World domination will be mine!!! Ha ha! ha ha!! Ha hahahaaaaa!!!!

Shame our race courses have waves and corners!

Yeh may need modifying for the racing but any boat that can break the speed limit on a motorway is pretty cool.
Obviously this would need to be a flooded motorway at the correct angle to an interrupted wind but if it keeps raining...

What a ground breaking moment that would be to be able to sail to the event faster than you could drive.

Next year's nationals could be a series of road stages around the country.

True, but we weren't racing.

The avoid the traffic, take the channel option is not one often considered at present.

Does anybody know what that thing actually is? I don't. I stumbled on the picture on the net the other day.
