Title: Dinghy Show 2013
Post by: Graham Bridle on February 12, 2013, 09:36:43 AM
You may have noticed that the Cherubs have hit the yachting press a little during this week with these announcements. It will get onto our own homepage this week as well.

http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/167931/UK-Cherubs-to-display-two-new-designs (http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/167931/UK-Cherubs-to-display-two-new-designs)

The committee have taken the bold decision to display not one, but two boats at the show this year. We're doing this because we will have two very different looking boats to show, built in very different ways, one by a new designer, both will be new and shiny and hopefully finished [they'd better be or there will be hell to pay !]

We're trying to build on last years growing event numbers and raise the profile of the class still further.

If you'd like to help with the show, which would earn you an entry pass and (maybe) a T-Shirt for around the normal ticket price - Phil is drawing up a rota on the members side of the forum.

Good call committee...money well spent.

Gutted I probably won't be there to see it all...

I second that, hopefully this will show that the class is growing even if the economy isn't.

Post removed because it only seemed to provoke public insults.

If you're visiting the Dinghy Show this weekend, and are planning on joining the association this year (which is required to enter the Nationals for example) - then give Phil Kirk (Saturday) or Graham (Sunday) a call on your way to the show and we'll do a deal to get you a 2013 Nationals T-Shirt for just £2 !

Strictly limited numbers, so first come first served .....

Sorry I can't be there guys...if I survive the meeting with the axemen I'll see you at Chew. I think they might be pretty angry as the ice is melting as we speak...last weekend the route we plan to do was in '20 year best' condition...how quickly things change.

Fantastic evening setting up the show, tremendous thanks to Paul, Peter, Clive and Alex for getting the boats not just finished, but immaculate.

Every year we ratchet this show up a notch, one day soon someone will notice. Thanks to Ben for the tellys, Maff for the kin editing, R & H for all the parts that glue it all together.

I am so, so pleased we went for 2 boats !!

That looks absolutely amazing! I wish I had been there but good news from Snowdonia - the boys did Central Trinity Gulley. An absolutely awesome day and a lifetime ambition for me.

Just want to congratulate all for a fantastic show this year. You guys really pulled this one out of the bag. And we are being noticed Dave Hall commented on how professional our stand looked this year.

Thanks all for the massive effort put in. Two fantastic looking boats.
Special mention to Ben - the walls and screens took a fair shift to arrange pull off.
