Title: Jog race to Cherbourgh
Post by: phil_kirk on May 01, 2008, 01:34:15 PM
I expect that this section of the forum was put together for me.

Well I'm off to cherbourgh tomorrow afternoon in light airs.  It's a race each way so we will be drifting back over Sunday and monday I expect we will be adrift in the middle of the shipping lanes on Sunday night.

Since we are only 5 up at present we have space for an extra one.  We are not desperate due to the conditions but will happliy take one more.

To get details on to the next of kin list etc please contact me today.

We came second in the race there and the race back although both races were a trial of patience.   Last night we missed the favourable tide into the solent and ended up beating against a spring tide in light airs. Not good for progress but we were with the rest of the fleet all the way.

Sounds like a good result in pretty flucky conditions... what were you sailing?
