Worth noting that ISAF have updated the sail measurement rules as used by the Cherub Class. The new version is here.
http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/ISAFGuidetoSailAreaCalculation- (http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/ISAFGuidetoSailAreaCalculation-)[13981].pdf
All the significant changes that I can spot are to do with multi element wing sails, but a couple of the formulae look to me to have been changed slightly, but only, I think, for clarity/readability, I don't believe there's anything that would actually give a different result.
Arguably the biggest change is that they are now the ISAF Sail measurement rules, not the IYRU Sail measurement rules!

I don't know why they can't include this in the ERS, it would make it much eisier to reference, it is sitting in the new documents list on the website, but then they say it is effective from 1/3/2008 in the document info, however checking the document it was issued April 1985.
It lacks any kind of front page, or headers and footers within the document. You only have the file name to say it is an ISAF document. This all makes it rather hard to reference from a set of rules.

I guess it would be worth an email to the ISAf secretariat for clarification. Shall I do that or do you want it to come from the CA?

I sent a message to their technical contact us page, I will see what comes of it.
