Sam and I...at the canoe slalom - we were upgraded to the athletes' friends and family area as the part of the stand we were booked in didn't exist. This took us to the heart of the action near the finish line and only meters from the water.
It was awesome and if I get round to editing it I will post a video link to give you a feeling for the atmosphere there...Sam and I sat behind the Slovakian geazer draped in a flag and with a Slovakian national colours horned viking helmet - yet another highlight in this 'not your usual' day.
It was unreal as the semi-finals ran into the finals and the impossible became possible. There were 5 members in our canoe slalom team and 4 of them medalled in one event.

That sounds like fun
Well, we was there at the Nothe fort in Weymouth watching the Star and Finn medal races yesterday, there was quite an atmosphere, and it was properly nailbiting watching the racing. Carol and I had a good time but got slightly sunburned. The organization was good with the athletes doing a sail past before and after the racing to get introduced and a big cheer.

We were there yesterday too, Phil! (And Chris Lewns was too - and we didn't see him either).
Here is the end of the Star race.

I was also there! Fantastic thing to see!

We saw Fireball Pete, and Zara formerly of Edinburgh Uni, and now possibly renamed RS200 Pete, but that was all I saw who I knew.
Is that a phone/binocular interface picture?

Having had to miss the canoe slalom finals for a work trip, I get my turn at spectating tomorrow. I shall be at the Nothe for the 49er medal race. Sadly gold and silver places are already sorted. If anyone's about, let me know.

We were there too! Though I now have some rather special sun burn markings from my sunglasses.
