I believe today is the day that you are picking up your new pocket sized skiff ;D How long until her maiden voyage?
-
Small change of plan: Not 'til friday!
-
Are you bringing it down to bbsc for the weekend ? ???
-
It's not going to be sailable by the weekend... not unless team doctor throw a cheeky all nighter with everyone helping!
-
Ah i see i wasn't quite sure as to what state the boat would arrive in. I shall rephrase my question; are you coming down to bbsc with the finished version. I'd love to race it in the 600 and see how they compare ;D
-
not long now!
-
I'm sure it will be worth waiting for when you finaly get it. Pocket rocket's fore deck is coming on too. the final hit with the carbon comes tomorrow.
-
;D So today is the big day ! ;D
-
No, sadly!
I am working v hard right now, so it's not such a loss. Things (I claim) will clam down a bit on Friday...

And finally, 2699 is in the garage here in London!
There are some photos on her webpage.
Now all we need are some fittings, foils and rigging......
-
so whats the website address?
-
class front page > boats > click the top boat.
Here's another one. It was windy so some steadying was required from the ened crew!
-
Looks real good Will & Lucy. I take it you were weighing it when that shot was taken! Whats the damage then? As for my boat it is is nowhere near as complete! Still sanding and sticking.
-
looks great :)
i'm dissapointed I couldn't come and see the boat being painted. Tim sent me a photo of Pocket Rocket's new foredeck looking very shiny.
Is the photo of lucy lifting 2699 the start of a new caption competition?

Before the topcoat went on the weight was 32 kgs, but since then lots of filler came off, then a coat of undercoat went on, most of which came off, then a tiny touch up, then more sanding, then the topcoat went on. There is still progrip and fittings to go.
That was how we spent the long bank holiday weekend. Many thanks to Paul Croote for lending his workshop, for painting and for photographing, and to Paul's colleague Brian who helped with spraying some undercoat on, and to Tim Unerman for being around for lifting duties.
We took Sunday off (mostly) for sailing Cheese at Chew.
Now (as you can tell) I am working v hard preparing for a meeting at 4pm.

Will, some how you have managed to post from the future, is it's only 13:22 by my clock, and your post is at 13:33!
It's looking AMAZING! But I can help but be reminded off a certain Ford that I believe only comes in one colour...orange. Dubbed by another doctor (Jeremy Clarkson) as the Ford Chav.
-
That was Crootey's idea, but we went for a less yellowy shade in the end. The orange is 'pure orange' which is v descriptive. eh?

The orange is 'pure orange' which is v descriptive. eh?
Wouldn't that be a fantastic name after Norvegian Blue ;)

Weight sounds good and in fact she is looking good all round. It sounds like our boats are around the same weight. I did a rough weigh the other day and it was 30kg... ish (still a fair bit of sanding to do), which I expected as it feels about the same weight as Luke's Optimist! If fact he picked it up with me the other day no problems!
I think you're going to handsomely beat me to the water though.
-
Caption "The future's bright " ;D
-
"The future's light - The future's orange"
-
It is looking good, I like the detailing of the black against the orange. The colour is a bit tame compared to some of your earlier dyno-rod luminous orange plans.
-
I expect to could have got some cheep orange paint from the RNLI. I think they use 'Rescue orange'
The next time the whole fleet gets flattened by a sqaull you will be the easiest to spot.
What about the 'Light Fantastic'.
or 'fake tan'
Are the racks removable? and is this something to do with garage space?
