Title: Pro Grip?
Post by: daryl_wilkinson on October 02, 2011, 03:21:50 PM
I'm after a long sheet of Pro Grip. All the normal places only do sheets up to 900x1400mm. I'm after a sheet 2200x 450mm. Any ideas? Or any other pro grip style foam suppliers that might do good size foam sheet.

I think the medical supplier does standard sheets. You could look at a wind surf shop for boom grip material, or just cut down standard sheets with a scalpel

John, how big are the standard sheets from your medical supplier? I have found a medical supplier that does 2m x 1m which is great but I need a NHS number to order. Which obviously I don't have. Good value though, only £7.50 for 3mm 2m x1m. In blue, red or white.

I'm guessing but this foam sounds like it's the same stuff as
Pro Grip.

Any chance of using said number to order a sheet in blue for me?

We have ordered direct from Algeos on several occasions.
There is no need for an NHS number, just a credit card and possibly an assurance you are a company...

If you get no joy, PM the order and I'll happily try for you. R

I'm struggling to think of a medical use for progrip. Any ideas what it's supposed to be for?

There must be a suitable source of large sheets of EPDM foam. Why not buy loads and have it laser cut to size. You could make a fortune undercutting the sailboat specific stuff!  ;D

Algeos pre-exist progrip and do exactly this!

We did not pretend to be a company when ordering from algeos. The stuff you want (2mm lunarsoft) was not on the website so has to be ordered by phone when we did it. Atum was 2mm but Antidote 1mm. Cheaper and lighter but more fragile.

thanx Will... I'd order http://www.algeos.com/acatalog/Algeofoam.html before see your post, and it came today. Looks and feels like Pro Grip. And looks robust. Only time will tell.
