Wow, £155 ! not bad.

I will email the seller and ask him to ask the new owner to get in touch, never know he might restore it.

The number is visible - Sarah and Phil will have the measurement certificate. The details from that would be a great thing to say to a new owner!

Why do so many things on ebay say 'I am selling on behalf of a friend' and/or 'due to illness'? This advert scores for both.

Is it code for something?

Incidentally I am told that a 'for sale' and a mob number notice in the window of a car means 'I am a small-time drug dealer. Call me with your order.'

In this case we can verify that the boat is being sold for a friend for reasons of illness! I have a number if anyone wants to contact the seller direct.

Can anyone confirm the sail number?

Tis Bistro, "This Way Up" I think. Once belonged to Mark James.

2661 This Way Up will be coming along to the Bonfire Blast.    :)

(To keep her on the water and up to date with maintenance I have kindly been allowed to "Babysit" her until Jason is able to sail her again. )

It's so that they can claim to have no knowledge of any defects that may or may not be obvious.

Do you think it is actually usually a lie, or do you think people sell things for each other to enhance deniability? If so, it's analagous (technically it's homologous but that is another story) to mischievous  outsourcing whereby the cash passes seamlessly from hand to hand but the responsibility is smeared out so thinly it disappears altogether. See Univ of Wales scandal for examples.

In this case it was 100% true. Jason owns the boat, it is currently sat in my garage :-)

I bid up to a tenner on the sails. I was outbid but then (surprise surprise) I got a second chance offer: Clearly because the person who outbid me was a shill. This is fraud (in their absence I would have got them for 99p).

To really rub it in, the seller wants £15 quid!

15 quid *including" postage would be fair enough wouldn't it?

It flat packs!

It would be OK for a lowrider moth, IC, but probably not big enough or strong enough for a cherub - or i14

I might soon be selling a bigger one with a big lifty T foil soon that would be more cherub sized.
