Andy, although having promised to attend I have since realised that I am double booked for that weekend as I am running a 10k adventure race in Nottingham on the Saturday and so I won't be in any sort of physical condition to do any sailing for the rest of the weekend! We will try and swing in on the way past on Sunday though to say hello and take some photos.

10K of running or a weekend cherub sailing.  Surely the 10K race gets binned?

If both events took place in the same area you could do both.  10K on the flat should only take between 35-40 minutes.  An adventure race sounds a bit like interesting cross country.

Good luck!

10k .... sounds like quite a long car journey to me, perhaps Tims car is broken.

My sailing services are available for Saturday of the inlands, provided I can leave in time to get to Heathrow for 6:30.

You mean the Tr1m's car. Turbo turned into an oil pump - the black smoke was thick enough to hide the born slippy and the entire M5 from my mirrors.

Would it be frowned apon if we just bring the boat along for a sail and boat chat? Not sure we are up to making it around a race course at present! That says more about our sailing ability than the boat.  :)

Not by the class, I guess you'd need to cross QM's palm with a bit of silver to keep them happy too ... having said that, we have all thought that at sometime, my advice would be to give it a go, retirement is always an option when you have had enough !

We would be more than happy to pay the day sail/entry fee, I think we also need to get up to date on our class fees as well but need to check.

sarah is coming along and may visit a friend in sunbury but will join us for socials etc. May be able to tempt her to take some photos on an other day.

Think we will book into the local Premier Inn - it seems unfair to inflict R's snoring on so many good people! We'll definitely be joining in with beers and curry though.
