+====== Round Caldy Island Race ======
 +
 +Sunday 13th August 2006
 +
+A race to a mark the Saundersfoot side of Caldy and back. It was blowing quite a bit. The first leg was a run. Basically it was far too wavey to really go for it - I've never been so wet, even in a Cherub.
 +
+From the second the start gun went I was under a wall of water from the bow. As we neared the leeward mark Simon (Goodwin - crew) was shouting at me we should gybe. I was underwater trying to keep it going straightish. A few more hollers from Si and he figured I couldn't hear or see anything so he dropped the kite and informed me we've passed the mark and it's time to turn around.
 +
+We fell in 3 times on the way there, meaning we rounded 4th, behind a 505, a Fireball and a Scorpion. The beat back was long. We fell in 3 times: Once in a tack, once blown over by a gust (it was very vicious in Saundersfoot Bay) and once to windward (the lulls were equally vicious)
 +
+4th in the end,(behind the 505, scorpion and fireball). 30 boats started, 15 finished I think.
 +
+On several occasions the bottom of the centreboard was noticably out of the water - the boat goes sideways very quickly when that happens.

+Sharp eyed readers will have noticed a small change in the front page. A previous graphic has been replaced by a new pink one which says "Address Book". Here's why:

+  Mr Lee, I am writing to inform you that your use of the trade mark YELLOW
+  PAGES on the www.uk-cherub.org website is infringing Yell\'s intellectual
 +  property rights.
+  I appreciate that this may have been a genuine mistake, so I kindly ask
+  that you remove all use of the infringing trade mark from your website
+  and/or any other materials immediately and confirm to me by way of letter
+  that the removal has taken place and the trade mark will not be used in the
 +  future.
+  I look forward hearing from you by return. In the meantime, Yell reserves
 +  all of its rights.

 +
 +  Dear Mr MacIntyre,
+  Thank you for your email. I am flattered that our tiny concern has drawn
+  the attention such an organisation as Yell. Can you tell me how you found
+  out about us? Are you a sailor?
+  You can be assured that any infringement of any intellectual property
+  rights concerning the trade mark YELLOW PAGES would be an accident, and
+  that as soon as we know what it is we must do, we'll do it.
+   Please can you list for me which parts of our non-commercial community
+  website infringe the rights you claim, and how we can verify your claim? I
+  imagine you would like us to change the name and the graphic on the front
 +  page?
+  Alternatively we would be very happy to use the YELLOW PAGES name with
+  permission if it were to be granted. We could display a note showing that
+  we have obtained permission, complete with a link to www.yell.com.
 +  Whichever you prefer.
+  Lastly, all comunication with us will be by email as we are a paper-free
 +  organisation.
+  Best wishes, and thanks for writing me the most interesting email of the day.

 +  Dr. Lee
+  Thank you for your prompt response.
+  I attach 2 screen shots of your website's use of our Yellow Pages trade
+  mark which prompted my initial email. While the intention of your site may
+  be non-commercial, I submit that the fact that your website seeks 'Yellow
+  Pages' advertisers and claims to receive 110,000 hits a year suggests
+  otherwise, for trade mark purposes atleast.
+  As we are not in a position to licence use of our trade mark to you, we
+  would be grateful if you can simply please replace the words "Sailing
+  Yellow Pages" and "Yellow Pages" with an alternative that is not one of, or
+  similar to, our trade marks. Note we also have a trade mark in Business
 +  Pages.
+  Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

 +
 +  Dear Mr MacIntyre,
 +  Thanks for your message.
+  In accordance with your request we have replaced the YELLOW PAGES artwork,
+  changed the title of the page and changed the colour.
+  I very much hope you find this in order.
 +  Best wishes,
 +  Will
 +
+  Dr Lee, thank you for amending your website.
