Cherub number 2428, 'No Sweat' is undergoing a refit in time for meeting her new owners next weekend.
This fine vessel was undergoing a thorough restoration in Bristol, but the disused building in which space was blagged for this purpose was suddenly due for demolition so the class association received an urget message: “Can you find a good home for this boat: I've no space to finish the work I've started”.
One thing led to another, and Tim Unerman, Paul Croote and Will and Lucy Lee arranged boat transportation and storage. A new owner was found: One equipped with a barn and some bairns too; the usual requirements for ownership of vintage Cherubs.
The refit was concluded this weekend with the application of a couple of coats of white gloss to the bottom and the first rigging of the boat for possibly a very long time. No sailing sadly, but the crew practiced his light wind technique!
